Oh, hi there! Didn't see you coming. Whatcha' doin'? Oh. That's cool... That's Shaft cool. Anyhoo, I just ran down here to give you a quick little update on something you might want to read if you care about my incoherent ramblings and stuff.
A while ago I was interviewed by the awesome Emily Breder for her upcoming book. The text of the interview is now available online, on DeviantArt, here: abstract1106.deviantart.com/jo… ("Koobismo on the artistic life").
Emily asked me about the origin of our little series, about the reasoning behind its creation, about my creative processes and views on various topics, ranging from the challenges of transforming text to multimedia, to the nature of interactions between writers and their audiences. I also gave out a bit of writing advice and shared my thoughts on a possibility of creating my own original series, back when it was a thought that I kept flip-floppily rethinking every night (or morning), as soon as I went to bed... I'm still thinking about it, and it seems that you lovely people would be interested in seeing it come to life, as witnessed in our latest poll: koobismo.deviantart.com/journa… - but let's get back to that when some final decisions are made.
Two highlights from the interview:
You can read the whole thing here: abstract1106.deviantart.com/jo…
I will be coming back with a more direct journal entry soon, need to finish up two things before I can put all my thoughts on paper... Urmm, before I can dump my thoughts in your RAM (am I going crazy here, or does this strangely sound like a gangsta rap song?). For now, be sure to check out the latest teaser poster for the upcoming Mid-season Finale koobismo.deviantart.com/art/Th… and head on to my Scraps gallery to check out a list of a few track working titles from our new licensed soundtrack, containing a few tiny spoilers: koobismo.deviantart.com/art/Sc…
See you soon!
Gingerly yours,

Two highlights from the interview:
Why did you impose a publishing schedule on yourself?
Koobismo: There are always things to make better, things that I can polish, words that I can swap for more suiting ones, sentences that will sound smarter if I take a bit more time to hammer them out... But focusing on that prevents me from finishing anything. I think that getting lost in constant rewrites, additions and upgrades often damages the final work as much as a rush job does. Establishing a solid deadline helps me get stuff completed, even if it's far from perfect. And, as weird as it may sound, the imperfections that you rediscover after some time make the work feel more natural, just better.
One of the benefits of going indie is the freedom to take on lots of different genres and story types. Any advice on having multiple projects going in different genres?
Koobismo: I'd suggest focusing on the narrative itself, on its themes and arcs, not on the specifics of the chosen genre, as these could often put illusionary limitations on your story, on what it could become. Shuffling genres can actually be beneficial to a writer - you'll be able to access a broader pool of sources, of ideas, of inspirations, perhaps leading to a breathtaking twist, a mind-shattering scene that never would have been born if you'd limit your inspirations to the genre-specific classics. Focus on your stories, focus on their audiences, surprise them but keep their expectations in mind as well. And try this exercise: ask yourself what is your project about, where does it take place and how does it develop over the course of the narrative, without even once using a word that could be defined as genre-specific.

The 1st episode of my new webcomic is already up!
Dudes and dudettes! Gentlemen, gentlewomen, autobots and decepticons, and - above all - mutated teenage turtles interested in martial arts and italian cuisine! The first episode of my new webcomic - "Game On, Hardcore" - is already up at the Escapist Magazine, and I invite you to check it out, comment on it (if you dislike the little Facebook widget underneath, there's always the Escapist forums made available to us as well), spread it around and do all the things you young (and old) people do with interesting stuff these days.
Sorry if I'm a bit pushy about all of this (am I?), but it's a huge development for me little self - it's my first
My new webcomic series coming to The Escapist!
If you’re one of the folks that kept a close watch on my time expenditures over the past six months, you might’ve noticed a certain super-secret project popping up now and then, most prominently around Christmas time. I kept it pretty low-profile for a while, mainly not to provide any more evidence that I am an overoptimistic fool that doesn’t know his ass from his forehead – because, seriously, if you’ve been around here for more than a month, you know I’ve provided enough evidence of that already.
As of yesterday, though, it seems said super-secret project is finally getting some traction – as in: s
Let those who dwell in the dust wake up and shout
My dad often told me it’s not worth opening your mouth unless you have something worthwhile to say. It’s an incredibly decrepit concept in this day and age – one thoroughly incompatible with social media and the dynamics governing our internetized lives. Silence is death. A closed mouth is a closed door, and if there’s something even the most positive of people find discouraging, it’s a door handle that won’t even budge.
And yet, keeping silent for these past few months felt right.
Maybe it’s because I’m tired of everyone overhyping the smallest little thing, a peculiar mix of spamming and spasm
A late update on the new and jobless me
Huzzah, Marauder Shields Episode 57 has finally arrived at DeviantArt! You can check it out here: http://koobismo.deviantart.com/art/Marauder-Shields-57-Organics-Synthetics-Part-A-435264136 - be sure to read the episode in the correct order, as it's been split in half to avoid wrestling with DA's size limitations.
In the meantime, allow me to bring this here update to your attention. Originally posted on my website over a week ago, it details a few rather sudden (and yet, months in the making) changes to my life that may or may not have some impact on Marauder Shields as well. Here we go, ladies and gents:
