If you’re one of the folks that kept a close watch on my time expenditures over the past six months, you might’ve noticed a certain super-secret project popping up now and then, most prominently around Christmas time. I kept it pretty low-profile for a while, mainly not to provide any more evidence that I am an overoptimistic fool that doesn’t know his ass from his forehead – because, seriously, if you’ve been around here for more than a month, you know I’ve provided enough evidence of that already.

As of yesterday, though, it seems said super-secret project is finally getting some traction – as in: smiles being issued, handshakes exchanged, pens touching the paper, all the jazz. It’s a definite game-changer for myself — and I really couldn’t wait to, at the very least, tell you guys it’s happening!

And, thusly, without further ado, I’m batshit excited to announce that I shall be working with the awesome folks at the Escapist Magazine to bring you a new, weekly webcomic series! Starting with the end of March, you will get a new comic written and illustrated by yours truly every friggin’ week, its story venturing into territories I have not yet ventured into. It will be heavily serialized, gaming-themed, and – hopefully – a ton of fun.

What does this mean for my other projects? Since this is a paid thing, throwing coins into my home budget, it will supplant some of my paid freelancing work, with the rest of the stuff – nominally Marauder Shields, Historically Gaming and my game — unaffected, slow-cooking as they always were. I’m actually hoping that if the mighty fine readers of the Escapist approve of this series, it might put some wind under my wings and open up additional possibilities for cooperation, with Safehaven waiting patiently for its own chance to shine. In other words: there’s copious rewards awaiting yours truly, if only I manage to upkeep your interest!

Regardless of whether you’re regulars at the Escapist or not, I hope you’ll join me on this newest wicked adventure. Frankly speaking, I’m now both extremely excited and terrified at the prospect of opening to a larger audience once more – and the butterflies in my stomach are slowly evolving into goddamn Mothra-sized spacemoth godzillakillers.

I'll share more details soon, and I need to update you guys on some other happenings as well — like the fact that my game almost achieved demo status before I dragged it back to the workshop to improve upon its story’s structure ONCE AGAIN. Expect that, and more, in the next few days and weeks, as it seems that I’m actually becoming an honest-to-god creator of internet content. A professional one.

Funny how far we went from that one goddamn mock poster built around an internet meme.

All of this is amazing, and you’re amazing, and there's plenty of amazing ahead. Thanks for sticking around.

Much love,
Koobs

P.S. Just to remind you, I’m available here, on my site, on e-mail, Twitter and Tumblr if you want to learn more or need any questions answered. Note that I also have a Facebook page set up for Historically Gaming, here.

P.S.2. As I was asked about this on Twitter already – the new project’s all drama-free and unconnected to the recent big headlines in gaming publications. It's just me, telling a cool story.
