Marauder Shields 48: Into the Abyss

In this one… Garrus, Liara and Tali stand before a decision, after learning of Shepard’s fate in the last episode of their arc.

I wrote Ashley’s poem specifically for this episode – you can find its text below:

“TOGETHER, INTO THE ABYSS

I cast my arm into the abyss that steals my brother away.
Frail lifeline of meat and bone,
the one I have to give.
Did you know?
From all the animals only we fear that we’ll die alone.

The ocean passed its judgment before I came by the shore.
But I don’t know your name,
and don’t care for your sins.
So I hold on.
The water tastes salty, as it pours into our lungs.

Our hands are weak,
But in this moment
amongst the storm
nothing can ever be as strong.”
